techno classica 2012 (1) - kunst & klassiker / cars & creation / arts & automobiles

Last week-end, the Techno Classica in Essen, largest classic car exhibition of the world, offered the opportunity again to admire a large variety of automobile designs of the past. More than 20 halls and several open-air areas full of vintage cars of all categories and decades combined with a perfect classic-car weather, attracted thousands of visitors. "Citroën and Arts" was the motto not necessarily only of the brand's trade stand. Here, there were DS design studies of Bertoni to be seen, but also some brand collaborations with other artists, f.e. Vasarely. Also the clubs of Citroën Club Boulevard offered some attractions to the subject of arts, although in this case actually the Citroën world meetings and the 25th anniversary of the SM Claub Germany were the main topics: as guest of honour the former Citroën chief designer Robert Opron was invited, furthermore it was possible to watch classic car comic illustrators of the publishing house Eckart Schott Verlag during their work and even have individual sketches made.
