French-German friendship
Mais oui, in which voiture else should Pierre Ferdinand & les Charmeurs pose on their actual album cover than - bien sûr! - in a 2CV? They are in this country considered as THE personalised rebirth of french chanson, francophil through and through, not only because of the charming french accent of the singer, self-proclaimed "woodpecker of Avignon". Also in their songs, they mainly pay homage to french savoir-vivre ("french kissing") or sing by name about great french icons like Aznavour, Alain Delon or Mireille Mathieu. So there was no doubt to use a certain french car legend as a must-have prop for the cover-shooting!

frau am steuer / woman at the wheel / femme au volant

looking back
When women back their car...this was how Quick talked bad in 1964! Well, in this case it's absolutely obvious: she was distracted by the beautiful 2CV in her rearview mirror! ;o)
The following short film is an original episode* of the well-known German TV series "The 7th sense", which once educated regularly and in a compact way how to behave correctly in traffic. However, one (better: men) still were obviously quite sceptical what women should be trusted to do in this regard. What a pity I can't translate the whole thing, it's really very cynical! Luckily, you can only smile about this nowadays and enjoy those vintage cars, especially the two 2CV of course!

*The laughter is from the replay of the spot during a TV show with publicity some years ago.

zurück in die zukunft / back to the future / retour vers le future

Aux Champs-Elysées*...At the beginning of the new year a little look back at a look-out on the future:
In October 2011 not only summer was changing into autumn, but also Citroën was changing the decoration of its Flagship Store on Champs-Elysées and so the doors of C42 kept temporarily closed for visitors. What a pity, as the Architecture Museum aroused such curiosity on the construction! At least, the futuristic vitreous façade gave an insight into a not less futuristic interiour, amongst others on open-topped concept car Lacoste. Is that the Méhari of the future?
