Heimatbesuch
Home visit
50 years after the final passage of a train of the Plettenberg local railway, the ambitious club Märkische Railway Museum Association has taken back steam engine "Plettenberg" for a month to its former place of action, kindly on loan from the German Railway Association of Bruchhausen-Vilsen, to celebrate this jubilee and two others (30 years MME e.V. and 125 KAE). On July 01 the association had declared a classic car day, together with special trips of the "Plettenberg" train, so next to numerous old trains, tractors and trucks there had also been some classic cars at the railway station, including two Traction Avant.
Who now feels to have a ride on that train: On coming sunday, the 29th July, there is the last opportunity to see the steam locomotive "Plettenberg" in its old home and ride a tour!

visami 2012 (2)
New and well-tried
The only fixed agenda highlight of the Visa meeting was and still is Sunday's final parade. This tour ever since led all participants, it had become a tradition, to the Marienburg, the steep ascent to coffee and cake loved and feared at the same time. This year however, some innovations were introduced at the Visami. After meeting initiator Roman Pätzel arranged to handover organization to Markus Wilcke already in the run-up to the meeting, there was also a surprising change in the destination of the parade, which now led to the monastery café on top of the monastery hill of Beilstein. Here, coffee and cake had to be earned, too, by a climb up of some steep medieval stairs, just after the participants had previously changed from car to the ferry to cross over from Ellenz-Poltersdorf to Beilstein on the opposite side of the Moselle. A welcome change, which couldn't even be damped by the violent downpour at the end!
